About Thrive 2 Live!
Thrive 2 Live! is a specialty support group designed to create a safe space to educate and provide resources that encourage healthy eating and an active lifestyle for women, ages 21+, with a BMI above 30.
Each week the group will engage in discussions to share related resources, explore challenges, review and set goals, and provide creative ideas and tips for successful, healthy living, including but not limited to hygiene, meal planning, intentional movement, work/life balance, and triggers. In addition to discussions, T2L! participants will complete a 20-minute exercise routine at each meeting. Nutritionists, personal trainers, counselors, and authors will be invited to further assist members in understanding various low-impact exercises and how to create daily menus. Should participants be unable to complete full 20-minute workouts, they will be provided an effective, modified routine.
During the initial meeting, members will set goals in the following areas, as applicable:
- Number of meals per day
- Meal portion sizes
- Water intake
- Weight Loss
- Workout frequency
There will be two virtual meetings per week on Wednesday, 7 PM – 8 PM, and Saturday, 11 AM – 12 PM. Once a month, on the fourth Saturday, members will meet in person, 11 AM – 12 PM.
Each session, virtual and in-person, will be 60 minutes in the following format:
All virtual workouts will consist of a combination of instructor-led routines and online videos.
- Support – “Champions Chat” (20 minutes)
- Workout (20 minutes)
- Meal prep, cooking sessions (20 minutes)
Monthly weigh-ins and measurements will occur at in-person sessions.
Each participant will be encouraged to volunteer at one of UTA’s programs once a quarter. Though, this is not a requirement.
Should a member refer a new participant, they will receive a $10 discount the following month.
