SEWING SENSATIONS – GIFT MAKING FOR THE HOLIDAYS

WORKSHOP I – Spreading Holiday Cheer with Gifts from the Heart

Tis’ the season to come together to bring warmth and joy to the elderly with handcrafted gifts. UTA is honored to begin our annual holiday project, creating handmade treasures for residents in local nursing homes and rehabilitation centers. For those who may feel isolated or seldom receive visitors during the holidays, these small tokens are a reminder that they are valued and remembered. Each handmade gift, crafted with love, carries a heartfelt message of care and compassion, lifting spirits and spreading cheer. The reward for our volunteers is in the bright smiles and deep gratitude of each recipient—a true reflection of the holiday spirit.

Join us in this meaningful experience! This year, we will be creating Christmas stockings and decorative pillows to distribute to residents.

⦁ Workshop Schedule: Saturday, December 7, 14 & 21 (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM)

⦁ Workshop Fee: FREE

⦁ Materials: Fabric and sewing notions are provided by UTA.

Donations of fabric and sewing supplies are welcomed to support this project.

WORKSHOP II – Create Your Own Holiday Keepsakes!

(Prerequisite: First hour allocated to Workshop I.)

In this workshop participants can add a personal touch to holiday gift-giving by creating unique, handcrafted treasures. They are invited to design and sew custom gifts for family, friends, or even for themselves. From festive decor to thoughtful keepsakes, you’ll have the freedom to bring your holiday ideas to life in a warm, creative environment. The workshop includes access to a variety of fabrics and sewing notions, along with limited guidance from the instructor to help bring your vision to reality. Standard workshop fees apply.
