QUILTING FOR THE BEGINNER (for youth age 8 and older & adults)
Curious about quilting but unsure where to begin? Join us for an introduction to the wonderful world of quilting for beginners. In this beginner-friendly class, designed for those new to quilting or looking to strengthen their foundational skills, you’ll learn essential quilting techniques, including fabric selection, cutting, piecing, and sewing quilt blocks. The course will cover both hand and machine quilting, teaching you how to assemble layers, quilt your designs, and bind the finished piece. By the end of this class, you’ll have the skills and confidence to create your own beautiful quilt, whether it’s a wall hanging, table runner, or a cozy lap quilt.
No prior quilting experience is required, but basic sewing knowledge is helpful. Join us to explore your creativity and craft a timeless work of art!
Course Schedule: Saturdays (12:30 pm – 2:00 pm)
Course Duration: September 28 – November 2 (6 weeks)
Course Fee: $100
Sewing Machine Rental Fee: $10 per class (or bring your own)
NOTE: Youth under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

REFUNDS & WITHDRAWAL POLICY – UTA does not grant refunds or credits for student absences. One makeup date will be presented each session for purposes of finishing a project. This session will serve as a make-up class for illness or a cancelled session due to inclement weather.
CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY – Participant/parent will be notified via email if a class cancellation is necessary. Efforts will be made to make-up weather-related cancelled classes, but are not guaranteed. Refunds will not be offered due to a participant’s inability to partake in missed make-up session. If the instructor is ill for a class and a substitute is not available, a make-up class will be scheduled as soon as possible.
